The Learning Resource Center of Davao del Sur State College ran a four-day library instruction program from August 3 to 6, 2026, at the DSSC Learning Resource Center. The activity, titled Kapihan sa DSSC LRC: Orientation on Library Databases, Newly Acquired Books Exhibit, and LRC Staff Re-tooling, brought together fifty faculty members and library staff for sessions designed to make better use of what the library already has to offer.
The faculty portion walked participants through the library’s policies, with particular attention to book borrowing and online services. They were introduced to several digital resources available through the LRC, including the Perlego online library database, Philippine E-Journals, AI Chat Library, READ Portal, and the DSSC Institutional Repository. The session also gave faculty a chance to browse newly acquired books and reference materials ahead of syllabus and course pack preparation for the upcoming school year.
A separate session was held for librarians and library staff, covering recent developments in library services and giving staff room to sharpen the skills they bring to their daily work.
The activity supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by equipping faculty with the research and instructional resources they need, and by strengthening the capacity of library personnel to deliver those services more effectively.
