The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines is wrapping up a three-day accreditation survey visit at Davao del Sur State College today, August 7, 2026, the last of a visit that began on August 5.
Two programs at the college’s Digos City Campus are currently under review: the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science and the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, both undergoing Level IV Accreditation, the highest level of accreditation assessment under the AACCUP system.
Two separate teams handled the visit. Dr. Marcela T. Caluscosin of the Davao del Oriental Mindanao State University led the team for BSEd Science, with Dr. Zenaida O. Luna of Bataan Peninsula State University as a member. The BSEd Mathematics team was led by Dr. Analyn M. Gamit of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, with Prof. Trinidad D. Macasil of the Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology as a member.
Dir. Roayda S. Hasim, DSSC’s Quality Assurance Director, served as the college’s contact person and liaison throughout the three days.
Reaching the Level IV Accreditation Survey means both programs have held up through three previous cycles of accreditation and are now being measured against the most demanding standards AACCUP applies. College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes welcomed the visit as a measure of what the college’s faculty and staff have been working toward. “Accreditation at this level does not happen by chance. It is the result of years of honest work, and I am proud of every person in these programs who made it possible.”
The visit supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by subjecting the college’s teacher education programs to independent external review, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through transparent and standards-based institutional evaluation.
