Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) and Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on October 27, 2026. It took place during the International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Computing, Engineering, and Science Education (inVENT) 2026 at Universitas Brawijaya in Indonesia.
Prof. Dr. Imam Santoso, M.P., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, initially signed for UB. Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, Director for Research Development and Innovation, signed for DSSC. The agreement itself carries the names of UB Rector Prof. Widodo and DSSC President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, both dated the same day.
Dr. Ana Marie J. Matalines, Director of the International Affairs and Relations Office of DSSC, and Mr. Aulia Luqman Aziz, Manager of Staff and Student Mobility at Universitas Brawijaya, witnessed the signing.
The MOU covers the exchange of faculty, staff, and students, as well as scientific materials, publications, and cultural activities. It also provides for joint conferences, academic programs, and joint research and publication. Each activity will be set out in a separate letter of agreement after the two institutions consult. The agreement runs five years from signing and renews automatically unless either side gives notice.
The agreement adds to DSSC’s ties with Indonesian universities, which already include UNISSULA through the SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project.
The signing supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the formal link between DSSC and Universitas Brawijaya.
