Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) through its Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Office, joined the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) General Assembly at Iloilo City, on March 26, 2026.
With the theme “15 years of Strengthening the Philippine TISCs: Innovation and Creativity Toward Sustainable Technology Transfer”, the event was organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, bringing together ITSO Managers and personnel from different institutions who discussed the key updates of the ITSO program.
Represented by the RDI Director Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, and Intellectual Property Coordinator Rio Jean R. Molina, DSSC joined discussions focused on the implementation of the ITSO Clustering framework, along with updated policies and procedures on patent and utility model applications. These updates aim to guide ITSOs in improving their operations, particularly in managing and protecting institutional research outputs.
During the discussions, participants were provided insights on strengthening intellectual property (IP) practices to support innovation and technology transfer within their respective institutions.
Furthermore, the college also joined the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) and new member institutions, signifying the continued expansion of the ITSO Network across the country.
This participation shows DSSCs support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the SDG 9 for Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
