



Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) participated in the Job Fair 2026, held in celebration of the 59th Araw ng Davao del Sur on June 29, 2026, at Tablizo Gym, Matti, Digos City.
Organized by PESO Davao del Sur and the Job Placement Offices of Davao del Sur, namely: Davao del Sur State College, UM Digos College, UM Bansalan College, Cor Jesu College, and Polytechnic College of Davao del Sur, with the support of Mary Mediatrix of All Graces Academy, the event brought together government agencies, academic institutions, and private sector companies to promote employment opportunities, career development, and workforce preparedness in the province.
Among the participating partner agencies were the Pag-IBIG, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), PhilHealth, Social Security System (SSS), University of Mindanao (UM), Cor Jesu College (CJC) Inc., Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Job Placement Office (JPO), and selected private businesses and organizations that offer employment opportunities and services.
Participants also visited the technical and vocational booths, where TESDA partner schools showcased their products, services, and available training programs, providing attendees with opportunities to develop relevant skills and enhance their employability. A welcome message was delivered by Rolly M. Impas, Provincial PESO Manager, who recognized the participating agencies and private sectors who made the event possible.
In his message of support, Provincial Vice Governor Marc Douglas Cagas IV emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies, educational institutions, and private groups in developing more employment opportunities and economic growth in Davao del Sur.
Celia G. Duo, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), officially opened the job fair and urged the applicants to apply with confidence, reminding them to use it as a learning experience regardless of the outcome. She also expressed her gratitude to all the collaborators who took part in this process to provide employment opportunities and to promote the common goal of “Trabaho Para sa Tanan”, where employment opportunities are accessible, workers are protected, and the quality of life of Filipino families.
Out of more than 200 applicants who participated and tried their luck with 18 hiring companies, 4 hiring agencies, and more than 600 available vacancies, 42 applicants were hired on the spot by various employers.
Through participation, DSSC affirmed its commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships and enabling community members through education and employability. The initiative promotes lifelong learning and skill development by contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education, SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth through job creation, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals – through the strengthening of collaboration among stakeholders, including government departments, educational institutions and organizations.
