Davao del Sur State College welcomed the G-YWCA Choir of South Korea on August 26, 2026, at the DSSC Gymnasium, for a special Korean variety show and cultural exchange program hosted by the Campus Ministry Office in cooperation with the Bible Institute for Preachers Foundation Inc.
The program carried the theme “Show the Proof of Your Love,” drawn from 2 Corinthians 8:24, and opened with praise and worship performances by the visiting choir. What set this year’s visit apart from previous ones was the food. The choir brought K-Cupbap and K-Tteokbokki, giving students and personnel a direct taste of Korean cuisine alongside the music and cultural presentations. A K-Fan Dance performance rounded out the program.
For many in the DSSC community, it was the kind of afternoon that gives memories to treasure. The language was different, the food was unfamiliar, and the music needed no translation. Students and personnel sat together in the gymnasium, ate Korean food for what was likely the first time, and found that a choir from Seoul and a college in Digos City had more in common than expected.
The visit supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the continued relationship between DSSC and the G-YWCA Choir of South Korea.
