DSSC represents the Philippines United Nations university Global Publication

Davao del Sur State College is the only Philippine institution included in Youth in Charge: RCE Leaders Shaping Sustainable Societies, a book published on August 12, 2026, by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability in Tokyo. The college contributed through RCE Davao, one of five institutions representing Asia Pacific in the book.

The college’s contribution is a community extension project implemented in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur, through the Bachelor of Public Administration program. The project involved 62 Blaan women leaders and focused on governance, legislative processes, financial management, and community participation. More than 80 percent of the participants gained measurable improvements in their leadership and governance skills.

The chapter was written by Neil Shane D. Ngojo, Roel Jr. D. Apas, Cherry Mae M. Rabaño, Winston Y. Malud, Joana Leah C. Aradan, and Kristine C. Aballe.

Being included in a United Nations University publication puts DSSC’s community work on a global stage. It is recognition not just of the project itself but of what the college and the Blaan community built together in Kiblawan, a collaboration that started on the ground and found its way into an international book.
