Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) held its regular Monday Convocation on September 21, 2026, at the DSSC Gymnasium. Sponsored by the College of Information and Digital Sciences (CIDS), led by Dean Felomino Alba, the event brought together the college community for values restoration, institutional updates, and recognition.
Prof. Rhea Mae L. Perito, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, delivered the values restoration. This week’s value focus was “Trust.” Prof. Perito emphasized that God has entrusted everyone with the responsibility of helping rebuild the nation and making the world a better place. She also encouraged the college community to strengthen the trust given to them by the people around them through responsible actions, integrity, and commitment to their respective duties.
It was followed by the presentation of updates from the sponsored college, presented by CIDS Dean, Dr. Felomino Alba, who shared the latest accomplishments and achievements of the college including the overall population of the College and the total number of enrolled students. He also shared the college’s local and international engagements, initiatives and future projects. He also gave away fresh from the farm Pomelo Fruit Award for Early Bird employees, recognizing the importance of punctuality and commitment among members of the College.
In her message, College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes recognized CIDS for its accomplishments and continued contributions to the College. She emphasized the importance of continuously developing the knowledge and skills of personnel through further studies and professional development. Relating this to the trust entrusted to each employee through their respective positions, Dr. Fuentes reminded the college community not to develop a sense of entitlement, but to remain humble in carrying out their responsibilities and serving the College, she stated that everyone must, “Maintain Our Humbleness to the End.”
The Monday Convocation reinforces DSSC’s commitment to values formation, institutional communication, and continuous professional development. These efforts support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
