DSSC concludes National Women’s Month 2026 Celebration

Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, concluded its month-long celebration of the National Women’s Month 2026 at the DSSC Gymnasium on March 30, 2026.

With the subtheme ”Lead Like Babaylans: Filipinas at the Forefront of Change,” the whole month of celebration featured a series of activities that centered on the role of women in leadership, community engagement, and development. Among these events was the 3rd FemMale Bazaar that provided opportunities for women entrepreneurs, along with forums and webinars such as “Leading Like Babaylans: Feminist Indigenous Leadership in the Global World,” a platform that gave participants the chance to engage in discussions on gender equality and inclusive leadership.

The culminating program gathered students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff from the DSSC community in a festive celebration of talent and unity. A contemporary dance competition showcased talents from the Administrative Offices, different Colleges, and extension campuses, with the Admin Office emerging as the overall winner.

The celebration also supported the College’s internationalization efforts, with the participation of renowned women in their respective fields as guest speakers and attendees, from different countries, who shared perspectives on gender, leadership, and indigenous knowledge.

This celebration aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 for Gender Equality.
