The DSSC Tudlok Visual Artists Guild conducted a Visual Arts Festival as part of the 7th Founding Anniversary celebration of Davao del Sur State College. The activity brought together Tudlok members and students from different colleges to participate in a series of art competitions held on campus.
The festival featured seven categories: Photography Walk, Digital Drawing, Pencil Drawing, Charcoal Rendering, Coffee Painting, On-the-Spot Poster Making, and In Situ Painting. The categories were organized to provide opportunities for students to present their work using different artistic mediums and approaches.
The activity was organized under the guidance of Tudlok Adviser Cherry B. Corpin and Co-Adviser Jones Lyndon C. Damo, with support from the guild officers and members led by President Era Mae M. Palanca. The preparation included coordination of mechanics, judging guidelines, and participation of students across colleges.
The event was attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Siverlyn M. Camposano, DSSC Culture and Arts Coordinator Sir Jenie Philip Saniel, and former Tudlok President Sir Vincent Paul B. Regidor, who joined the activity and acknowledged the efforts of the organizers and participants.
The Visual Arts Festival formed part of the anniversary week activities of the College. It provided a venue for students to share their artistic skills and engage in campus-based creative work.
The activity relates to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by supporting student development in the arts and Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the promotion of cultural expression within the academic community.
