DSSC ITED INITIATES INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION

The Institute of Teacher Education (ITEd) of Davao del Sur State College under the auspices of the Institute Dean, Dr. Cindy B. Rosil, begins to forge an international academic collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utar, Medan, Indonesia (UMSU) during a virtual meeting on February 24, 2023.
The initial meeting was attended by Dr. Cindy B. Rosil, ITEd Dean, Dr. Ana Marie Matalines, the internationalization focal person (IZN) of the Institute of Graduate and Professional Education (IGPE), Mr. Jovanie Kief Putong, ITED IZN, Ms. Mary Lisley Jane Reyes, ITEd Program Head for Math and Science Department, and UMSU Professors, Dr. Cut Novita Srikandi, Mr. Pirman Ginting, Mr. Adib Jasni Kharisma, Mr. Eri Yanti Naustion, and Ms. Rita Harisma.
The hybrid international conference partnership, centering on Innovation in English Language Teaching and Research with the theme: Responding to Current Issues in ELT – Innovation, Challenges, and Strategies, is targeted to take place between September and October 2023, following the forging of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between collaborating institutions.
Expected speakers will come from Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States of America, United Kingdom, and Indonesia.
Prof. Pirman Ginting also included the possibility of publishing presenters’ outputs in accredited international/national journals.
“This is a great opportunity for collaboration between UMSU and DSSC, and we are looking forward to the MOA signing very soon,” said Dr. Rosil, ITEd Dean.
