DSSC conducts benchmarking in Davao, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao HEI libraries
Davao del Sur State College - Learning Resource Center aims to improve its learning spaces to comply with CHED requirements for physical facilities and implement more transformative library services to become internationally recognized. Thus, the library conducted benchmarking at various Higher Education Institution (HEI) libraries in Davao, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao regions last July 8-10, 2025. The team of DSSC librarians and library staff visited Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapua MCM), University of Mindanao (UM) Matina, and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) in Davao City, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) in Panabo City, Caraga State University (CSU) in Butuan City, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Cagayan de Oro City, and Central Mindanao University (CMU) in Bukidnon. This activity aimed to assess the library’s infrastructure, physical facilities and seating capacity, benchmark the availability and quality of digital workstations, adopt with their best practices and alignment with the international processes, and determine the library’s standing and contributions to HEI’s in attaining global university rankings.
