In adherence to the directive outlined in the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Memorandum Circular No. 24-004, mandating the translation of the one-page Freedom of Information (FOI) Manual into Filipino, in compliance with Executive Order No. 335, s. 1988, which promotes the use of the Filipino language in government transactions, and Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016, which operationalizes the People’s Constitutional Right to Information, DSSC has initiated the necessary steps to translate its FOI manual accordingly. By adhering to the PCO’s guidelines, the college ensures that its FOI process is accessible and understandable to the public, further promoting openness and responsiveness in public service.

DSSC LOGO HAS BEEN GRANTED TRADEMARK REGISTRATION

The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) logo has been granted trademark registration with number 4/2023/00508395 by the Intellectual Property Office of The Philippines (IPOPHIL) last August 19, 2023. As such, the DSSC Research and Innovation Office underscores that the utilization of the DSSC logo for commercial or personal purposes without prior authorization is absolutely prohibited. To protect the brand identity and exclusive rights, the institution must grant prior permission or license for any commercial or personal use of the logo. The purpose of this approach is to ensure protection against unauthorized use or commercial exploitation of the logo.

Davao del Sur State College names Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas as Director for Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI)

Dr. Roxas has an extensive academic background and has held several key positions in the educational sector. She served as the Dean of the Institute of Business Education and Governance, where she led the implementation of innovative teaching strategies and curriculum development initiatives. Dr. Roxas also served as the Director for Instruction, overseeing the delivery of quality education to students across all levels. With her vast experience and expertise, Dr. Roxas was appointed as the new Director for RDI, where she will be responsible for the development and implementation of research and development initiatives. Her leadership and guidance will be crucial in advancing research and development in the organization, and she is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the role.

1st International Research Conference on Business, Education, Technology and Agriculture

The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) under the leadership of College President, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes envisioned as one of the leading higher education institutions that creates cutting-edge and internationally accepted researches. The DSSC is committed to produce quality and relevant collaborative researches that anchored on international and national research agenda. The DSSC adheres to creating for food security that benefit its clientele and community, developing breakthrough research that generates income by improving the different sectors, providing sustainable results to increasing concerns on climate change and bio-cultural diversity preservation, research output and technology adoption created, and enables researchers to collaborate with national and international research program and projects. The DSSC research agenda initiated the priority plans and programs that serve as strategic goals in addressing challenges in innovation, food productivity, and efficiency, disaster risks resiliency and climate change readiness, gender inequality, and breakthrough technology adoption. The College recognized the adoption of the UNESCO SETI Scorecard for monitoring and implementation of SDG in Davao del Sur and Davao Region. The DSSC created research centers to specifically develop proposals and specialized expertise in lobbying higher budget allocation for research, development, innovation, and progressing infrastructure plans of the College for a specific sector. The establishment of state-of-the-art laboratories will provide internationally accepted research results and analysis that will facilitate the capabilities of researchers and highly multidisciplinary researchers. The upgrading of laboratories, creation of technology start-up and incubation hub, and capability building of research personnel will facilitate the opportunity and enhance competitive advantage of the communities it may serve.
