Davao del Sur State College announces that three faculty members from its Food Technology Department have been accepted into the Commission on Higher Education’s Higher Education Upskilling and Study for Advancement of Staff and Faculty, or HUSAY, Program.
The successful applicants for the international graduate training program titled “Strengthening the Future of Food Systems: Specialized Graduate Training in Food Innovation, Nutrition, and Bioprocessing” are Ian Jade Flores, RChT; Emily Aldia, PFT; and Nelle Angelique Kakilala, MSc.
The program will be held at the Asian Institute of Technology in Klong Luang, Pathum Thani, Thailand. It is designed to deepen participants’ expertise in food innovation, nutrition, food engineering, and bioprocess technology through a blended learning format that combines online instruction with hands-on laboratory work at the institute. Participants will also complete micro-credential courses that may be credited toward future Master’s or doctoral studies at AIT.
The college’s inclusion in this program reflects a sustained commitment to faculty development and meaningful international engagement. It also advances several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, among them SDG 2 on Zero Hunger, SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.
