Davao del Sur State College has taken a new partnership with Tongmyong University in Busan, South Korea. Under a Memorandum of Understanding, DSSC will diversify collaborative opportunities, which will help in extending outreach for students, faculty, and the community themselves on the global scale between October 2025 and August 2028.  

This partnership is not merely a document signed in the form of a unilateral MOU, it is a propelling force for new opportunities. It will open new doors for DSSC students to travel, and understand new cultures, and provide them learning opportunities which are far beyond the geographies of their country, and the confines of a classroom. Moreover, the faculty members will have the possibilities to work with international colleagues for the improvement of not only the College, but the region as well, which offers opportunities for unbounded research and academic collaboration, blended with innovation and outreach.  

By working together with Tongmyong University, DSSC demonstrates its dedication to inclusivity, and the principles of forward-thinking excellence. It is a statement which supports the idea that education is not geographically confined, and that the young minds of Davao del Sur have opportunities to work and learn with students, and academics from all parts of the world.

Through this partnership, DSSC has maintained alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals by facilitating access, quality education, and cultivating decent work and economic growth, as well as deepening international collaboration. More specifically, it demonstrates the College’s will to equip its people for a world of limitless knowledge, values and opportunities.  

What DSSC has accomplished today goes beyond establishing a partnership. It is a promise. A promise for every student, every faculty, every community member, and the College itself—to dream bigger, reach further, and ascend higher, proving that even from Davao del Sur, the world is within reach.
