Davao del Sur State College - Internal Audit Services Office (DSSC-IASO) conducted its Virtual Benchmarking Initiative on September 24 and 26, 2025. This event became an opportunity for DSSC to collaborate and engage professionally with some State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) with established Internal Audit Services (IAS) Offices.
Benchmarking sessions were attended by 3 invited SUCs, who shared their best practices, operational frameworks, and strategies to strengthen the function of internal auditing. Participating educational institutions were:
Each of these institutions presented the advancements made within their internal auditing functions, focusing on the realignment of their frameworks and systems to facilitate the effective and efficient performance of audit assignments. Their collective experience offered useful insights on addressing shared challenges and fostering innovation within internal auditing.
Colleagues from the Internal Audit Services Office at Surigao del Norte State University also joined the DSSC-IASO team. They were just as enthusiastic in honing their operational skills. Important talks aimed at promoting institutional progress and inter-agency collaboration were undertaken by the group.
Beyond merely overlap exercises, this collaboration offered the opportunity to examine the tools, strategies, and practices employed by different SUCs in the management of their Internal Audit Services. DSSC-IASO seeks partnerships to enhance its audit practices to achieve consistency with emerging standards and expectations.
In appreciation, audit professionals of high regard and their respective offices were presented with certificates of appreciation for their generosity in time, insight, and transparency in their internal workings. The spirit of public service that upholds communal progress and excellence is clearly exemplified by their willingness to collaborate.
