In a proactive effort to attain university status, the Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) recently held an essential Vision-Mission Workshop for its academic colleges and the DSSC Employees Association. This initiative is a strategic endeavor to foster a robust, unified academic identity based on a collective, institution-wide vision.
The workshop, conducted on September 12 and 26, 2025, emphasized that DSSC's overall strength derives not only from a cohesive institutional orientation but also from each academic unit's ability to express its own personality and contribution. DSSC ensures that each unit contributes strategically to its long-term ambitions by formulating institute-level vision and mission statements that are intentionally connected with the institution's core Vision, Mission, and Goals (VMG).
This extensive training attracted a diverse array of participants, including Deans, program directors, department chairs, and student leaders. The incorporation of varied perspectives underscores the institution's dedication to inclusive planning and stakeholder engagement.
The training is a fundamental component of DSSC's overarching dedication to quality assurance and academic achievement. It was carefully crafted to provide academic leaders with the essential structure, resources, and a collaborative environment for critical reflection on their unit's distinct purpose. The primary objective was to create vision and mission statements that are contextually pertinent to their respective sectors and distinctly connected with the institution's fundamental beliefs.
