Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) conducted its 23rd Regular Board of Trustees (BOT) Meeting on October 1, 2025. It was held at the DSSC Board Room, with Davao del Sur State College President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes and Board members in attendance. The session was chaired by Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, CHED Commissioner and BOT Chairperson-Designate.  

This gathering under the direct leadership of Commissioner Aquino was the first BOT meeting of DSSC as the Chair of the Board of Trustees had transferred from Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III.  

Prioritizing academic program development, enhanced research and extension initiatives, and improvements in campus infrastructure, as well as the policy, administrative, and other developmental plans of the institution, was the main agenda of the discussions in the meeting, capturing the progress made by the institution over the previous year. The Board addressed several partnership agreements, reinforcing the academic and research networks of DSSC within the country and internationally.  

In the discussion, the Board of Trustees captured the focus of higher education equivalent to national policy and the specific context of the region as a challenge. The discussions reinforced the position of DSSC on the provision of quality, inclusive, and equitable education, with an unrelenting drive on growth and sustainability.
